I'll be at work, having as little as possible to do with this farce
We've already been pre warned that our bigger suppliers will be shut for best part of 5 days. Try not to break down My D3 Build Thread

I will be working 12 hour days throughout until 6th June! But I don't actually know anyone personally who is celebrating it in any form. 2005 D3 V8

Yep, just another day.
Tend to agree with DM, it’s just a farce.
No doubt it will cost us millions to celebrate when OAPs are struggling to heat/eat and people are homeless.

I shall be at Lords watching England V NZ. Quintessentially English.
The alternative was a street party at my sisters, which will no doubt be a rerun of the last jubilee street party, which was really good. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

"When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die! You don't know who's children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

Ironically, it is that demographic that will celebrate the most.....
I'm just seeing it as two days off work (unpaid as in a contract role ) and chance to get some stuff sorted at home and around the garden, especially as weather report says it will be a good few days.
SWMBO wants to 'do something' and will no doubt spring a "lets go here" suggestion on me at some point completely missing the point said 'thing' will probably be heaving, roads could be sh*te, etc. Not aware of anything going on in our road for this but we will use it as an excuse to 'have a few drinks' sat in the garden with our one neighbour. SWMBO will also likely want to watch hours of trivial cr@p on the TV of it all
Not pro/anti royal's, just not that interested, hope everyone enjoys whatever they do and for whatever reason they do it, many will involve families together so that has to be good generally?

Fair point.
What surprised me was when I looked at Good Morning Britain Twitter account this morning. Plenty of responses to a question what will you be doing for the Jubilee? I’d say 95% were actually against the celebrations for one reason or another.

I’m also a very proud monarchist and they are a vital part of Great Britain, and was lucky enough to be presented to the queen many years and had a few minutes chatting with her and it was just like talking to your gran
But I will still moan about the cost of the extra day off -------------------------------------------------

I still cleary remember the original event sitting in blazing sunshine in the garden with a cake in the shape of a crown that my mother had made. My father had bought a television set so that we could watch the ceremony, but with no recordings in those days it was quickly back to the test card. So I don't see much point in doing it all again. Cake didn't last long but the TV still works, though it is difficult to get a signal nowadays. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Ah, I fondly remember sitting in the blazing sunshine in the playground in 1977, all in red, white or blue t-shirts and all getting horrific sunburn..... But we got to drink slightly fusty warm milk from a 1/3pint bottle. Do you hear that Johnson you maniac? 1/3rd of a pint! The only Imperial measure that divides in a decimal number of smaller units, and we were served a 1/3rd of it!
I need a lie down. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Most of the royals do an awful lot for this country and bring in billions, and how many people have ever done so much service for the country as the queen. It’s about time we had a reason to celebrate something good Joined the BMWX5 45e group
