I’ve found a service kit for the box but what’s the plastic part at the top called please because if I’m doing it I might aswell do it right and also is there a gasket between box and engine and is there anything else you would do whilst it’s off I need to get all the parts together because I’ll be using my mates unit and he will want it in and out as fast as possible 😂😂

If you’re doing this yourself, document the process and post it here if you can, I personally would like to understand what the job entails and I’m sure others would appreciate as well.

Basically as I understand it.
Remove the transfer box to make things lighter.
Remove the starter (fun job if you haven’t done it before)
Thru the starter hole, undo the 4 ? Bolts between the engine fly wheel and torque converter. Need to rotate the engine to access the bolts.
Undo the exhaust cross over mounts which is above the gearbox. This is the painful part and costs £600 so don’t butcher. Long thin arms required.
Drain fluid I assume to save mess.
Disconnect wires pipes cables.
Remove cross member ?
Undo mounting bolts. Many to the engine bell housing.
Gearbox can then be removed.
Torque converter between engine and gearbox.

Pete k you make it sound so easy 😂😂 I haven’t looked at it properly yet but I’m sure I will be re reading that a few times 😂😂 so you don’t have to support the engine then does that hold on its own and I’m guessing that the box is very heavy so maybe I might need some mechanical assistance to lower it

It’s not easy. Just giving you some pointers.
I’ve avoided it so far.
Yeah it’s heavy.
I think the engine supports itself
