Just 'blew-up' my VCM connector

Hi,

While I was updating my LR3, I suddenly lost connection with my VCM. Together with this I started to smell the burning of electronics...

I opened up the VCM and yes, there it is. One of the resistors has been blown up (I actually think it is a Capacitor).

See the Capacitor (?) in the left top of this picture:

Who know which exact numbers are on this specific electronic part? I can't read them anymore since the part really blew up.

Hopefully with the replacement of this item I can fix my VCM again...

Who can help?

Thanks and regards,
Goswin de Rouw

PS: The VCM is from Rotunda.

Some extra info....

Ofcourse my LR3 was unable to drive when the VCM failed (because I was just updating the Transmission module) ... I had to get another VCM to re-program the module and after the calibration it all functioned after this.

I cleaned up the Electronic part and this is what I (think I) can read: A226V and 53TN ??? But I am not sure íf these partnumbers are correct and/or complete.

So before I solder a replacement onto the print, I really need confirmation on these numbers... Bow down

The VCM was bought in 2008 / 09.

Thanks and regards from the Netherlands,
Goswin de Rouw

Its definitely a capacitor, you can see its labelled C5 on the PCB. Can you get a parts list from the manufacturer ?

Capacitor values are not always critical. Having said that it appears that it has blown up really hard. Can you use a meter to trace what it is connected to? Is it across the 12 volt supply ?
