I remember an FL1 going down there. As FL1 are prone to do, about halfway down the first section, it decided the brakes were too hot and turned off the HDC This was, of course, accompanied by the friendly land rover BING! we all know and love
The place is amazing. Have been going there for 20 odd years. The place has been updated over the years. Sat broadband hit and miss but that just annoys the kids Nearest supermarket is Morrisons at Stranraer. Bonfire on beach with marshmallows is a must. Henry’s restaurant does great meals if you want to venture out. henrysbayhouse.co.ukPot Noodle Challenge Winner 2011

used to go there 25 + years ago, its own by a guy called Richard Nash, always made me think of highlander films
Been there in my 109, RRC and Defender, back in the good old days before it got all updated and posh, and the closest cottage wasn't anything more than a shell.
The cliff track has now been turned into a concrete / tarmac twin track, early days it was a rutted earth track supported with sleepers, the 109 had to do a 3 point turn to make the hair pin half way down.
Reversed up the track in the RRC one year just for giggles Igs

I don't know whether they still do this but years ago there used to be a boat in Portpatrick Harbour that used to go out and tow targets behind it and then some jets would come in really low and do target practise. You could stand on the cliffs at the top of the harbour and watch the jets coming in really low Cheers Ian
