Just ordered, new D4 XS, Orkney Grey

Can't believe I've just ordered a brand new D4 XS 2012 MY in Orkney Grey, its sat in the showroom now virtually ready to go. Just need a little time to change my plate and try and sell D3 privately.

I got the quote from the lease company then went for a drive around three local dealers, I needed to get all the relevant info like service costs and what they would do, the results were quite unbelievable.

Based on a new XS MY 2012, using the same milage and deposit, taking metallic paint and full size spare there was a difference of £150 PER MONTH between the three dealers. It just so happened that the cheapest had just received a new XS in the right colour a few days previously. They were within £20 a month of the lease one but the final payment was £800 less and their service plan (for 3 services) is only £999 rather than £135 a month for the lease company, a grand total of £6480!!!! Surprised Surprised

The work deal definately opened my eyes to what is available and it seemed to focus the minds of at least one of the dealers, and of course the fact that it is sat there virtually ready to go. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Does the XS come with the Timed Climate hardware as standard? Seems like an expensive item for LR to include on a vehicle FOC?

What else can be enabled on an XS, I have mine coming in about 2 weeks (was due 1st September but delayed at the factory - was ordered 4 months ago).

The software is there for the timed climate it just needs to be enabled on the D4 done a couple of them now, there are two options you can have the full remote option or the simple set via the radio, others that can be done are 4x4 info full voice control, there is not as much that can be done on the D4 as was on the D3.

4x4 and voice should be standard now

Hardware is not there for the timed climate ... You would need to add reciever / antenna and key fob for the remote version

Software is there ... It just needs enabling G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
