How do I keep my butt plug in?
....... the little red bung that fits in the tow bar.
I always buy genuine LR ones and I'm now on my third in under 3k miles!!
Apart from superglue (kidding), what's the best way of keeping them in?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I find the plug needs more than hand pressure to seat it correctly. I use a rubber mallet to seat it correctly and never had a butt plug go missing Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

A firm kick with a steel toe cap does the trick

I drilled a very small hole in the corner and added a "safety chain" that stopped my losing it if it did fall out.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Take it that's NOT related to the plastic insert for the tow-bar ?

Well blow me down with a feather duster! I didn't even know such things existed. (Okay, I knew about butt plugs. In theory that is, but not one for a Disco). Mine didn't come with one (my Disco that is, not my butt). I shall have to be straight onto t'internet to source one.

You have to thumb it in!
By that I mean the little catch/tab - a bit of pressure on the tab will make sure it clicks into place

Clench - So I'm told.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
Didn't think mine did but found it in the storage space for the jack. Didn't know what it was until I saw it in a thread on here..

Drill a hole in plastic attach using a cable tie, wrap some PTFE round the plastic insert to help it stay in place
