I find taking the key out does the trick
Which is a security measure, of a sort I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It can be turned off via the diagnostics machine. Dealer can be royally shafted if found out though...

Does anyone know what its for? Is it if you unlocked car, key in, then someone it autolocked and you happened to be on the wrong side of a rather locked door?!
We have only had ours two days, its already annoying... I can see its value in tiny number of situations, and its curse in nearly all others!

Not sure if this is what its for as such, but I left the key in the ignition overnight once and the battery was absolutely dead in the morning . I put up with the bong gracefully now!

pretty sure that when I was reading the manual the other day it said that the dealer may remove this warning sound if wanted.
