Knocking/Clunking on Full Lock...after wading.

Hi all,

Looking for some guidance before I start having a poke around, recently we've had a lot of bad weather and I took the chance to do some wading.
I'm assuming its not a coincidence but I can now hear/feel a knocking on or near full lock in either direction. Normal driving is fine and I've taken a look under for any loose plastics/debris. To me, as normal driving is fine I'm a little confused as to where to investigate.

Any hunches as to what the issue could be?

Yea I spotted that post. I don't think its the same thing as this can happen at a bit less than full lock.
That said, its up on ramps at the min so will dab a bit on and see what happens. I'll keep you updated.

So greased the stops and had a full service + oil changed in both diffs and transfer box (might be worth mentioning the transfer box was full of water) - noise is still there.

Garage seemed to think it was the transfer box causing the noise and to monitor it now its had it's oil changed, but I can't help thinking its the front diff because I don't see how the transfer box can be related to it happening when turning... can someone throw some knowledge my way about how the transfer box works?

It might also be worth mentioning that it doesn't seem to happen at speed on roundabouts or tight corners, but when going slow it seems to happen with far less of a turn.

When running straight the front & rear outputs of the TB are running at the nominally the same speed. When on lock the front has to run faster than the rear, so centre diff has to operate. My local indi. will run the vehicle on his ramp with the wheels free to rotate , when investigating transmission problems . Could not yours do the same to locate the noise when on lock.
