it's a Land Rover !
Always felt the "D I S C O V E R Y" lettering on the bonnet was a bit brash .... "in yer face"

So decided to replace them with "Land Rover" lettering (at my own spacing) and much prefer it.
Fo me it also distances it from the other two newer Discovery models.
Much prefer the original look...... and it goes with my other mod ...black plastic wheel arches.
Now, if only I could get a D3 grill to fit it!

I like it. RedMerle always had LR on the bonnet of his D4’s. Agree about the grille, the original D3 was the best looking one. 👍2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Absolutely!! 👍
I did that to both of mine, in 2015 and 2016. Even the dealer preferred it and didn’t want it returned to DISCOVERY come trade in on the first one. To further fix some of the “damage”, the SDV6 blanking plates were removed and indicator lenses reinstated to their rightful places, red LED lamps were refitted and the “smile” on the grille was colour keyed again 👍
Returning to full D3 appearance would be ideal!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Don't agree the way Land Rover has gone re this bonnet lettering.
Most other vehicles will have have a badge or lettering of the brand on the front, whilst the model is detailed on the rear.
Even Range Rover don't feature the model lettering on the bonnet!
Glad at least I've sorted it for them. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

To be fair, Land Rovers all have the green oval on the front.
However I believe the lettering on the bonnet is to note the brand lines, Range Rover / Discovery / Defender. Within each line then are the different models - RR FF, RR Sport, RR Evoque, Disco5 Disco Sport etc
But the great thing about LR owners is that we are not slow to personalise our vehicles to our own preferences.
