I’ve had an EML on and off and restricted performance on my D4 for a while, I took it to LR Portsmouth they gave the following diagnostics:
car in restricted performance mil light on dash. tested on sdd several faults in pcm. carried out data logger on n/s and o/s egr valves. egr valve i no response and egr valve 2 lower than expected see print outs attached. requires n/s and o/s egr valves plus air path set up and associated parts needed to fit. £1,992.25
carried out smoke test and found leaks on o/s rocker cover, cover split requires new and associated parts. throttle body to resonator leaking requires new resonator and throttle body due to not holding and blowing by. £2,706.78
I’ve been relatively luck with my D4 but shes 12 years old and this is a huge garage bill. I spoke to Mark West @ West 4x4 he offered to fix the O/S rocker resonator throttle body etc at a fraction of the price and said fixing this would probably fix the damn EGR valve issue? but he is fully booked up until the end July.
Does anyone know of a reputable garage that you can rely on to do a good job and no what they’re doing with a Land Rover? I’m in Hampshire near Portsmouth but I’m happy to travel as I’m desperate to get my D4 back on the road ready for the summer holidays with my daughter.
Hope someone out there can help? And yes I know getting a new LR could help

If you're willing to ravel, then Corsham Tyres near Chippenham are brilliant. They've looked after all my Discoveries and currently look after my daughter's D3. They really know their stuff.

Hi all,
Does anyone know of any garages closer to Portsmouth that could help me with the below issues with my D4, she’s limping and I need to get her fixed but can’t afford LR Portsmouth high prices.
Thanks

You could probably just keep resetting Faults with an IID to clear down the limp mode and patch the cracked manifold with some epoxy to keep you mobile until someone can book you in - It would be cheaper to buy an IID and pay someone to do the work and swap both Manifolds at the same time than what Landrover would charge you just to have the manifold replaced. If you didnt want it in the future sell the IID on again and make back most of the money you paid for it! Must stop buying shiny toys....

If Haslemere is not to far try SLR Automotive Surrey Ltd. I used to use them when I was living near Woking.
