Battery for discovery 3 HSE

Hello everyone. This is a battery I have been researching for my disco 3. I have problem starting and battery holding its charge. Mechanic has said new battery as the one in is ever the original or past it date. Can people suggest batteries or sat if they think I have right one. I have also looked at bosch but people say there not great. Thanks

The specs look ok, it has four years warranty so that's good. I would also check alternator output as that will cripple a new battery if its crook.

That is the battery I got after searching on here, didnt last, so halfords for a Yuasa 019 with trade card just over 100 quid.
Best thing with halfords is when you have an issue you can take it back in person and get it sorted pdq.

Everyone has “his” personal opinion, but I use Bosch regularly, also on my D3, and never problems....
Good battery’s ...IMHO

I always buy Bosch or Varta (actually they are the same, made in the same factory)

I've got a Varta Silvery Dynamic in the Disco at the mo, bough in Jan '15, still going strong. Thumbs Up

I have a Halfords Yusa, been there for a coupe if years now and is fine. Obvs Halfords is usually very convenient etc but I know some people cant stand the place.

Had no problems with the Exide.
Have had good Bosch S5s and not so good.

Haven't used big Yuasa's recently but haven't had much luck with their small ones for the bikes.

My original battery gave up this year, not bad for a 2007, I ended up buying this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/019-type-Genuin...SwkrJdMFNt

It's never missed a beat and it's been -5 deg this week, not bad for £63.50 and quick delivery too.

And their(Bosch) guarantee is rubbish, I paid over the odds for one with a four year guarantee which sounds good until it packs up after 12 months, Bosch calculate that to mean you get 25% off a new battery which happens to have gone up in price by 10% and you don’t even get that until it has been sent back to them to test, rogue traders IMHO.

Surely that should mean you have 75 percent potential life left so should get 75 percent of a new one?

A major roadside rescue company use rebranded Bosch batteries are changing more new batteries that they have fitted than they are old batteries that fail in the first place. There patrol staff are told to recharge the battery for 20mins then send you on your way and tell you that you are not doing enough miles to charge the battery.
It states on top of the battery no quibble 2 year warranty so if you have one insist you have a new one every time.
