from a quote perspective, they were way higher than others I received, but then insurance quotes are personal to you and only you. However, there was a bit of a 'to do' about them not covering for off road use, ironically! So depends if your newly beloved will be venturing anywhere near the soft stuff.
oh and welcome back MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

You don't need insurance for "off road" use. You only need insurance on a public highway. Think about the number of beat up old range rover classics with monster truck wheels you have seen on pay and play sites brought in on a trailer. If you "want" cover for off road use this is a slightly different kettle-of-fish. Firstly most, if they provide the cover at all, will only cover for pre-arranged club outings.
Note, competition cover is extremely specialist and expensive.
Green laning is done on public highways. D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten

I was with LR insurance for the first 2 years I owned the discovery, and I accepted that they were a bit more expensive but I was happy to pay that for the off road insurance and LR parts if needed. However on my 3rd year they doubled my premiums, no personal changes on my side. Girl on phone said it was due to the 16% government hike. After a short discussion we realised that my maths skills were better than hers and I told them to stick their cover right up their . Took my business to Dial Direct for a £700 a year saving. I guess LR don't want my business

Left LRI 2 years ago, less cover and a huge hike in premiums
I obtained a quote from them back in Aug which was three times higher than the rest of the competition.
LRI had a change of underwriter some 2-3 yrs back (forget who) who seem to have a completely different business model to previous underwriters. D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
