Land Rover Insurance multiple drivers |
|
I've just had what I judged to be a good quote from LR insurance (arranged through the dealer) but when I called them to speak about 3 named drivers they told me that two named drivers is their maximum. Whilst I know that 'any driver' policies are a thing of the past, the policyholder plus 3 named drivers doesn't seem a wildly unusual request to me! Does any body have any experience of this?

I've had 3 named drivers on my daughters car with Admiral Insurance. She owns the car and is main driver with my wife and I plus another learner driver daughter.

No, I forgot to mention this was not on a Disco but a Nissan Micra ! Although last year I had 3 named drivers on my Disco with Admiral. I have no need for off road cover and I doubt they would cover that for 3 named drivers.

What I was trying to establish was what was behind the assertion that LR Insurance, when insuring A new D4, are unprepared to write business involving 3 named drivers. Whilst I know we all have to precisely fall in to 'pigeon holes' to get insurance these days, it does seem a somewhat arbitrary rule which I would like to understand. The LR Insurance policy, underwritten by Allianz otherwise seems to be well specified and reasonable value.
