Last drive..... Sad day....then good day!
Well chaps and chappesses..... That's it...it's all over.... My HSE Luxury has gone.....
She has been faultless for 2 years and taken me on 55,000 miles of the country's roads...it was the perfect transport for my daily battle around the M25 and trips to and from Scotland. It was sad giving it its final drive knowing it was going....the family has always been sentimental about our cars and this one was no different with all upset that it was going...
The absolute saving grace is that we know it's going to an exciting new home with a fantastic new family who are planning on taking it on lots of new adventures.. It was brilliant seeing the excitement it caused when it was revealed to the kids it was soon to be theirs! Perfect!
Even better they are forum members! So a double result.....!!
I'm now migrating to the dark side....I've replaced it with a stunning new RRS which will be my new daily transport..gorgeous car and beautifully built....
For those of you hoping to see the last of me I apologise.... I'm not going anywhere...this forum is brilliant and I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and met some fabulous people..and I've still got my G4 so think I'm still eligible!
Regards to you all! FC..

It is always sad to see a car go, but you have certainly replaced it with something special enough to ease the pain Andy

Perhaps FC very similar to the analogy often used by boat owners:
"The two happiest days of your life, the day you buy your boat........ And the day you sell it!"
Good luck with your new car.Buck blue HSE. De-tango, MY14 rear LEDs, Narpy Grill in shadow chrome, Refurbished steering wheel (beanie), phone software upgrade (Geoff) V8 brake upgrade (Geoff), Gunmetal wheels

Enjoy your new car FC....I've said from the start that I love the current RRS as much as I hated the old one....there are very few cars I would consider over the D4,and if I could get away without the need for the room my car gives me,I'd have one like a shot (small matter of funds also )
A G4 and a RRS....lucky boy 8) .....don't forget the photos"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
Locking rear E-diff
RLD spare wheel protector & sump guard
Extended roof rails
Series 111 mudflaps
Black side tubes,grill and vents
Timed climate remote
Hids4u interior lights
D4 Firenze my2012 HSE
D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...
I spoke to one of our directors at work that has one - and he is getting nearly 40mpg average - ok he doesn't drive like loon, but still very good for a big car Mark.
2006, D3 SE Auto - gone but not forgotten.
2014 BMW 530d M Sport Tourer.
1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500

Enjoy the RRS but remember that it is not built like a Disco so don't lean on the thin exterior or indeed the inner door cards. I hope JLR have the leather quality sorted by now but if not get your nags in early. They drive very well indeed!

Hi FC,
Just seen your avartar. You have aged so much. When I last saw you, you were a nice looking lad, oh and that G4 in the back ground it missing its bumper and wheel arches...........................
Well done son enjoy the new RRS fabulous motor, but no good for me. I still go caravanning and fishing, need the space.

For the next 3-5 years we need the D4 hence our purchase but come swap over time to the next gen then it'll be a toss up between the RRS and D5.
I so badly want an SVR one - Beadles had one in when I went to sort mine out and it was damn fine!!! MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
Prospeed rock/tree sliders w/steps
HSE Winter wheels
TransK9 B24
Travall Cargo Guard

So cruel so cruel! It's alright I'm sleeping in it! That'll teach em! Finding me snoring in the back seat....ugh frightened myself with that thought!
Thanks Gents....will certainly miss the D4 as it was a stunning car and perfect for so many things....don't worry I'm just going through my manopause and will soon get it out of my system...
Re the RRS I can't believe it's the same engine...got 40 mpg today which was normally 32mpg with the D4 but the pick up is super impressive..
Hello BillyB! Hope you're well! Long time no see! Up your way in a couple of weeks with another wedding at the farm!

Look after the RRS, I might be on the market in a few years for a new KSTTL (Knackered Shed To Tip Lugger).
