Leak coming from upper hatch seal |
|
Just come back from 3 weeks away into a glorious Manchester rainy day - noticed (very small) leak down the upper hatch glass
Cant see any leak - area around rear courtesy light bone dry - removed rear courtesy light trim - nothing - only thing I can think off is the hatch seal (it was full of crap) or the actual glass seal?
Anybody had anything similar - was thinking the Bluetooth aerial - but its bone dry?

I did. Especially noticeable after going through a "brushless" car wash with those power jets. I believe it was a gap in the seal around the third brake light at the top of the hatch. You could pull up on the front of the light assembly and it would lift up a bit. Eventually I resealed it with some plastic cement epoxy and its held and not leaked since. Knock wood. The whole thing was not really held in with anything else except some tacky calking like substance. The small plastic clips (the only mechanical fasteners) were cracked.

Cheers
I cleaned around the seal and fiddled it around a bit - and (touchwood) seems OK
