Leaking injectors

Hi,

Since I bought My 55 plate V8 HSE back in May this year the engine oil level kept increasing. After 3 visits to the dealer they found that 3 injectors were leaking. Now it fixed it's ok including a nosie free hand brake which they did at the same time. I just wanted to know if any other people have had problems with injectors leaking or engine oil increasing.

Thanks

Lewis

Not heard of that, but not many people in the UK run petrol D3's, By engine oil increasing, you mean that petrol has been seeping through into the sump and diluting your oil, not ideal. Have L/R offered to extend the warranty on the engine in view of this rather undesirable fault?

Hi,

Fuel was leaking into the sump. Extended warranty wasn't mentioned when I got it back. I will ask now you said it. They didn't tell me much, just that new injectors were fitted and fuel was leaking into the oil system. They changed the oil when I first told them about the fault. They comfired it was increasing but told me I would have to come back at a later date. It took three visits for them to do something about it. Never mind it's all fixed now. I wonder if my mpg will increase Smile

Thanks

I had a leaking fuel injector four months ago. Symptoms consisted of lower than usual MPG (about 13 as opposed to the usual 16+) and a check engine light that was coming and going. The dealer found a fuel leak coming from one of the injectors. Replacing the o-ring seemed to fix the problem. Dealer didn't explain how the o-ring could have gone bad.
