Hi people
I've had my D3 now for about 6 months or so. I've been on the 1/2 day LRE thingy which was good and had little 'plays' off road myself on some local green lanes.
Although I must admit that sometimes I get a little nervous and perhaps need some encouragement and guidance as to how to get the best from my car.
Is there anybody local (ish) who has a bit of an idea and would like to comre and play in some mud and give me hints, tips & advice? I live in South Yorks
I am going on a LR level 1 course in the new year but i think sometimes that 'real world' adivce is much better
Thanks in advance folks '06 D3 HSE

mike just had a look in your gallery.
is that you pitched in the Jeep with one wheel up in the air?
Is that what 'little plays' off road mean ..if so must get my provisional license out. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Hi Mike,
I'm in a similar position as you i.e. New Disco, don't know where to take it!
I have the added complication of being new to the area so don't know where the local green lanes are.
Unable to make the peaks on 30th, I'd love to go but have got friends over for lunch that day. Boxing day is traditionally a day to go walking/sledging/pubbing in our family.
Ronp
Did you get anywhere with organising a little day out? Back in the game!

Well if you can wait until Feburary, there may well be the opportunity for 'regional' days out for small groups, focussed on challenging (but non-damaging) driving aimed at showing you how and what a Disco3 can do...

hi disco dad, no net yet, though did join the Wayfinder site..will sit down over hols and look for routes. also had a look at the Langdale Quest who offer various half day outings..from soft to hardcore.
But thinkin on, no doubt there will be a few of us newcomers to 'off road' that don't want to start too serious [& damage shiney new D3].
My thought is: asking and using the Learned of this site. i.e 1 x Leader & his D3 [=experienced member - trail is his known terrain] + 6 x Novices + 6 x Other experienced members [recruited by leader] to ride and advise each novice. Novices pay eg £27 per head into the kitty to cover diesel etc for experienced? [£42 goes to Leader & £20 each to other experienced members].
What ya think is there any mileage in this??? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

ronp - yes that was me in the jeep but once again I was following others so I had a little more confidence.
Gareth - I wiull check with SWMBO but the 30th seems like a great idea
DiscoDad - where in Yorks are you mate?
Basically when I'm looking at an extremely rutted lane that is a foor deep with mud or something similar I just need people like your good selves to say "go on lad, it'll be alreet" '06 D3 HSE

Disco Dad, didn't have you down as being vertically challenged.
wot, by the size of the beer you must be all of 18 inches tall.
so it must be a diecast model D3 you drive then.
you can go offroading on my rear lawn if you want, it is a bit uneven.
