Nah they wouldn't get through basic training. I sat through some pretty desensitizing videos. Back then they didn't tell you and I didn't realise it at the time buy hey ho

As soon as I saw the expression 'influencer' I groaned inwardly.
For the expression social media influencer read an unthinking person on the take, just after freebies etc for themselves who are too workshy to go out and earn a decent real income.
As for Brexit and mortgages maybe he should get off anti-social, sorry social media and do a bit of research for himself.
A little bit of research and he would find out that the Belfast Peace Wall which is about 40' high still exists in Belfast separating two communities some 20+ years after the Good Friday agreement. Which other major European city has such a wall?
As for mortgages surely his parents should have taught him the basic principles of financial management etc.
Now if he was to argue that WW1 and WW2 cause mental health issues for the combatants and the public then I would agree. How many squaddies were executed in WW1 for desertion? Many of those squaddies were probably suffering from shell shock or what is now called PTSD.
Does learning when William the Conqueror invaded England in 1066 and Harold reputedly got shot by an arrow in his eye (quite a horrific sight/thought IMO) cause mental illness in kids?

My own son has 40k more followers than this chap, he works full time and does the social media stuff in his spare time, so please don't label all in the same category 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Eitherway - he needs to go away, to be polite.
I think there are some in generations now that need to man up and move on.
There is no precise measure, he is of an age as to be on the cusp of millennial/gen Z==================================

While they are on the wane a bit, many social media influencers earn a pretty good income from what they do, my nephew's partner brings in 6 figures from getting free or discounted goods and telling people about them and she has to run her business in the same way any other person doing a proper job running their own business would have to do.==================================

Being over 70 I am so opinionated to the point that these “influencers “ are an irrelevance! But on the question of “ can you be harmed by coverage of unpleasant scenes etc” I must answer an emphatic yes.In the early 50’s there was little censorship on what was shown on cinema newsreels. Pictures of concentration camp victims/ displaced persons and all the associated horrors are still with me to this day. But if you don’t acknowledge that all this happened and put it into context then you are doing the present generation no favours because if you don’t learn lessons from history then the chances you will need to repeat them sometime in the future. Does this “influencer” believe that we can live in a bubble wrapped in cotton wool?Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.
tbh ... I suspect the clip is selected to generate the headline. The lad is wearing a poppy, so he's not in the "didn't happen" camp (poor choice of word ?) ... but he's hardly coming across with a considered/rational argument. if anyone is influenced by him, they should probably consult a suitable mental health practitioner.
anyway ... snowflakes. shouldn't it be "meltal" issues they worry about.
getting coat now.

Thank God war's will no longer be fought in trenches with waves of people sent over to die.
There is no way any of the snowflakes would do it now, i dread to think of the mass hysteria and protests should a national call up ever come about again.
But, WE are to blame for this snowflake generation, we wrapped them up in cotton wool and they turned out little
We should not be shocked by this, IMO it is simply cause and effect.

It may be his choice, but I wouldn't overly read much into that, its more or less obligatory to wear a poppy on TV this time of year.==================================

I'll say it again most youngsters are not snowflakes, my daughters aren't, all their peer group we meet aren't, they are typical of their generation, the snowflakes are a minority who have been given a platform.==================================

If someone thinks they are an "influencer" and no-one takes any notice of them, are they still an influencer?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

They are not intent on influencing you or the wider public though ...they influence those that have chosen to follow them for a particular reason e.g. hobby, music, skill. I don't know why people get so uptight about it ...it doesn't affect them. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
