I did this about 18 months ago and I am delighted with the result, although it is certainley not cheap. You can get it done for around £1000 at somewhere like seat surgeons or autotrim, but I decided to pay the extra and get genuine landrover ones. They are not all leather, as there is some different material used in areas where the plastic trim touches the seat, I take it this is to prevent the plastic from rubbing through the leather. Also the Landrover ones are designed to be used with heated seats, not all retrims are.
They are easy enough to fit if you are methodical and take your time. One thing I did find out though was they either come in leather or PVC. The leather ones are made in South Africa and the PVC ones are made in Poland, different part numbers as well. The 6th and 7th seat covers only come in PVC.
Pity you never thought of this earlier as there was a complete brand new set of both black and beige on e-bay and they went for well under £200 if I remember correctly.

Hi mwoodpower,
I had my seats re-trimmed on my last D3 and IMO the leather looked better and more of it than standard factory fit.

Seat surgeons retrimmed mine in January.
I found the price very reasonable (not much over a grand) compared to trim shops nearer to me so ended up driving from Glasgow to York to get it done and they did a really good job.
Saving up to get the Freelander 2 done next.
The options from Seat Surgeons were more appealing than standard Land Rover black or alpacka with pvc seat backs.
Give their web site a look (theseatsurgeons.co.uk), if youre planning on keeping the car it will be money well spent.
