From our experience of the BMW Connected app, it is not really worth bothering with.

Admittedly we only use it to start the heater (sending addresses to the sat nav has never worked), but that usually takes at least four attempts and it is now easier just to go out and start it.

The LR Remote app is fine it’s the Incontrol app system (LRs own Apple CarPlay) that’s rubbish, if the new software update cures that then Apple CarPlay isn’t needed.

Took the Velar around the Applecross peninsula today, not the best day for it but went anyway as the Premier Inn in Inverness was already booked, though couldn’t see much from the top the road was clear and the views on the way up didn’t disappoint.

As long as the snow’s not too deep, it might not be found until the thaw. Whistle

I was going to write mooooooove but I thought I’d be a grown up for a change Laughing

Though not the best conditions, the snow made the scenery even more dramatic. If anybody is thinking about doing it, I highly recommend it.

I stayed at Kinlochewe in my tintent a couple of years ago. It is absolutely stunning around there when the sun comes out. White cars suit the scenery around there!

Velar was back in the dealers last Wednesday, finally got the software update to fix my connectivity issues and so far all seems to be as it should.

Also as a bonus my dealer activated the smartphone pack, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto free of charge and without me asking for it Very Happy

What software version are you on now?

I’m on 18D and all seems okay, but then I have no idea what Apple CarPlay does, so I’d no idea if mine even works! Laughing
