Quote:With Mr Eledge providing the sperm, Mr Dougherty's sister Lea served as the egg donor.
So one man is the father and the other man is the half brother of his child. Different.
So long as the child is raised in a safe and loving environment, I don't see the problem. Got to think that the whole family is going to be there for the little blighter - the aunt is his mother, as is his grandma. That's going to be confusing but so long as they make it work, why not?

And today's whataboutism award goes to.....
Come on DG, up you come. A round of applause for DG everyone. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

OT - I'm currently reading a novel (I guess it's sci-fi in genre) where it is imagined that he and she are no longer used. It's all they and their rather than he/she and his/hers. Took a bit of getting used to and still jars a touch. I have little doubt that in 100 years from now, "they" will be the usual form rather than "he" or "she". Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Reminds me of one of the greatest Terrace chants ever - when Ipswich play Norwich :-
Your sister is your mother, your father is your brother, you all f*ck one another, the Norwich family. Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

My children's school drill them in all the approved gender-neutral terms (of which I believe there are more than sixty).
