So I've upgraded to a D4; nice machine, like it, done about 1500 miles on her, yesterday out of the blue it showed up "perfomance restricted" or some such luckily I was almost home; BUT it did it again today, left the house, half way down the brae, feels like there's a 1000cc under the bonnet, crawled home, garage snowed under, anything I can do in the meantime? 3 x TD5s + 2 x D3s; now upgraded to a D4 after a 3 month flirt with a VW Toerag...

Your starting point is to get the codes read, as there are many reasons why it can go into limp mode. Once you post the codes here you will get some suggestions. Some might even be helpful

Thank you Steve. So i went out and bought a diagnostic tool.
have asked new question in seperate post "Manifold/Turbo query" 3 x TD5s + 2 x D3s; now upgraded to a D4 after a 3 month flirt with a VW Toerag...
