I was driving my D3 this evening when it went into what I can only describe as "idle only mode". While in Drive, the engine refused to go any faster than idle speed, so I couldn't get the car to go any faster than walking speed, even with the accelerator on the carpet. Normal limp mode limits the car to 40 mph, so it wasn't that.
I checked it with my Gap 11 tool, there were a few new codes I haven't seen before:
B1B70-81 (28) Local interconnection network bus circuit 2 - Bus signal/message failure - invalid serial data
P0234-00 (28) Turbo/supercharger overboost condition
Suspension
C1A30-64 (68) Both switches pressed at the same time - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure
I don't quite know how the turbo can overboost, but could it put the car into idle only mode?
I stopped the engine briefly, and that reset the fault and I was able to drive home normally.

As a follow-up, does anyone know what the maximum boost pressure should allowed to go up to before the ECU trips something? I had the Gap tool showing live boost pressure today, and put my foot down going up a hill, to try and provoke something. When the boost pressure got close to 45 psi, the engine immediately cut to "idle mode". This time the power reset itself after a few moments without having to stop the engine.
