Now you know thats not true, but don't let reality get in the way. However, why should a consequence of Brexit not be raised in a post if it's relevant?

we can all do the yawn , even raise you a couple of rolled eyes and similarly add why let a good thread get in the way of a brexit opportunity quote, however tenuous and then add to it with something nobody was discussing.
I do hope you get your new Defender though as the car is absolutely awesome. May take your mind off another topic

Anyway, as this is now a diverse thread, my family now want to change the colour from Eiger Grey to Pangea Green. The feeling is Pangea is more country and the Eiger will look too slab sided, besides no one has seen them in grey / silver.
I like Carpathian but I can't bring myself to spend £1800 on a paint colour.

Well if we’re discussing delivery of the new L663 my 90 commercial has been on order for about 18 months now. The 110 L663 only took about 4 months from order to delivery in Pangea green. Now I am not sure what we’re the main reasons behind delays in the 90 delivery, will probably be a mixture of covid, shortage of chips, not sure if JLR gets parts out of Ukraine or not. The 90 will also be in Pangea green Moo.
Now even I doubt that brexit has had a major impact on the delay in getting our L663 90. However brexit has a serious impact on our daily lives, but that may well be better commented on elsewhere

There were a lot of Ukrainian staff at the Nitra plant who opted to return home and fight for their country. With these brave folk split across various teams in the plant, the operational impact was quite pronounced.
I'm aware that VAG sourced many of their wiring looms from suppliers in Ukraine. Not sure on JLR, but would be surprised if they didn't have some direct issues there too. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

the 90 production was scaled back partially due to 110 demand higher and with limited 'chips' better to put them in higher profit product, quite simple and pretty much what every manufacturer has done. That or focus on 'low chip content' product as Ford did and seen in increased sales of commercial products (I think Transit and/or Ranger would have been in top 10 sales if classed as a car). You'll also have seen/heard/bought down-featured cars since chip shortages bit, with features removed from car spec' and or shifted to an options list that you often cannot have.
My wife has an Evoque SE, her new one coming in October is an HSE yet has less features in the driver display with it reverting to analogue dials and the smaller screen between the clocks. SWMBO probably won't even notice but I will as I have the cars set to full screen sat-nav layout on teh dash' when I drive them.
When I left JLR Brexit was not causing supply chain losses, issues yes, with new paperwork and that but they'd spent years previously preparing for 'it' as best they could/knew, there was a whole department set up to create the new processes needed and that went fine (at that time at least).
JLR get a lot of their harnesses from Egypt, itself a potential trouble-spot a couple of years ago that impacted on supply chain.
Pangea green? Not my choice of colour. Find it a 'common colour', most of the JLR pre-volume vehicles were this colour so they seemed to be 'everywhere' plus I am just not keen on it personally. I would have same issue of cost of paint if I was spending my own hard-earned money of speccing a car and in the 'grey scales' there are plenty of similar shades to each other that fall in the different price bands. My 'next one' was going to be Santorini black (£895) or Carpathian (£1800) but I wouldn't spend £1800 if I was paying for it..... Moot point as I switched order to an F-Type Jag' instead
