Is the battery flat? Have you tried the keys in the door lock on the passenger side?

If the battery is flat you can charge it through the tow bar wiring socket if you have a 13 pin socket or the grey S type one.

Hi All, really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Key in passengers door just turning, never used before.

Tried powering through side indicator lamp, no joy.

Has anyone ever opened the bonnet from the grille?

Thanks again!

As per the video, get underneath and connect your charger to the starter motor live (red cable) and get a good earth, wait to see if the charger starts working.... Thumbs Up

Is the car flat or the key? If its the key you can try charging the keys rechargeable battery with an electric toothbrush charger (Oral B works) or perhaps a QI charging matt for a mobile phone might also do it.

So why cannot you open the passenger door with the key? Might just require a squirt of WD40 or something similar.

Graphite powder is the preferred lubricant for locks. Cylinders should be lubricated periodically depending upon environmental conditions and usage.

I use Kasp at about £3.30 and lube all the locks on my cars & house every 6 months, when it's warm & dry so usually March & September.

I also use it on the retractable mirror mechanisms.

Quote:
Why shouldn’t you use WD-40 in your locks?

WD40 is hugely popular across the world, and is used for anything from preventing rust to removing nail polish from surfaces and even removing gum from clothes. But this multi-faceted product has limitations – it should never be used to lubricate locks!

The main reason for this is that WD40 is not a true lubricant; it is a water and oil displacing solvent. This means that it can actually remove any lube already in the lock, leaving it dry and susceptible to sticking. As well as this, using WD40 in a lock can lead to the collection of dust and grime, causing the lock pins to stick.

Probably not much help.
But you can understand how the lock works here (see video )
