Locking Wheel Nuts

One of my lockers has failed, and the top part just spins round. Was ok if you pushed the key on real hard but I think the last time it had tyres, they used the air ratchet on it and it cammed out taking with it the last bit of metal that was allowing the key to bite.

Fortunately I managed to get it off with a lot of stress, and I welded the top part to the botton part so it won't spin anymore, meaning there's more of the grooves now for the key to bite into, but I really need to get another one asap.

I called the local dealer, but they were worse than useless. I wanted to know if a new nut can be ordered to the same code letter, or if indeed I could order a new set to the same code letter. I wanted to keep the code letter the same, so if I or any future owner ever lost the key, it would still be the original code held on record at LR for ordering replacement purposes.

Dealer said that you can order specific keys, but didn't think you could order specific nuts, or even sets. If you order a set, you have to take whatever comes of the shelf. Said he would look into it, but never came back to me as usual.

Anyone out there know any more on this subject? Any dealers out there wanna sell me a set for my code letter? (Clearly I don't want to reveal that code on here, but since they are just single letters of the alphabet, there aren't that many combinations, so it can't be that hard for somone to pick my letter off the shelf can it?)

I have replaced all 4 locknuts with normal nuts as I just didn't like them. So I have a complete set with adaptor that you can have if the code is the same. If you want to send me a PM.

D3 locking wheel nuts are a pain

you only have 3 options

1. order replacment kit RRB500120
This comes with 4 new lock nuts and a security key

2. order a new codede security key only(THE LETTER IS ON THE FACE OF THE KEY)

3. remove the locking nuts and replace with standard wheel nuts

you cannot buy a single replacement locking wheel bolt, only the key to remove...i know, i know Shocked

Pm me if you would like me to supply anything as i keep all these in stock

If you know which nut it is (number on the key) PM me, we coat the bl**dy things in the individual bits, but also have a fair few fully assembled kicking around to do the torque tests or salt spray tests on

Endlessly grateful to you Mr Moose for sending me a new locking wheel nut. You are a good man, and I hope you will allow me to pay you for your trouble.

Very grateful to the rest of you too for your suggestions and offers of help. Sometimes the world looks like it's falling apart, and no friendly or helpful people exist in it, but then you folks prove that decent helpful people do still exist!

As my Welsh friends around here would say, Diolch yn fawr iawn.
