Hello all,
Does anyone know if there is a way of locking the car without any alarm, other than the faff (?) of taking the little plastic thing off the LH door handle and using the key? We have a problem with the alarm at the moment, and the thing goes off almost every time, about 1/2 hour to 2 hours after the car is parked. It will get fixed, but in the meantime it's driving us nuts!
I've already tried disactivating the volumetric system (double key press), but it still does the same thing.
Incidentally, the hazards don't flash when the alarm goes off either, is this normal? (perhaps they're frightened of making more noise than the alarm )

I was under the impression that a double press activates the Volumetric alarm not de-activates it?

Other way around in my handbook, as per the OP.

First press arms everything, second disarms the internal movement sensors. You have to do the second press within 3 seconds (I think, maybe 5) of the first

It is the opposite for the US for some reason...
Si... why are your posts full of empty space at bottom ?
Is this due to some new found sense of space found out in Africa Or just the knock to the head you suffered that rumoured night

I hate to question the verility of someone I haven't met, but my people watching skills have trained me to suggest that this may be due to shortcomings elsewhere......

Fair enough... shall I press the triangle and complain about myself ?
My last post was rather rude.

simon wrote:It is the opposite for the US for some reason... It's actually more than opposite now... we do not have Superlocking at all. It was in the oriignal specifications, but removed... probably due to lawyers, err, "safety issues" in some states. (Person can be "trapped" inside vehicle.)
We also don't have internal motion sensors or tilt sensors. It's obvious we're all honest here.
So, our single press is no different than double press.
My dealer will not attempt to turn Superlocking on for me, which I guess I can understand. Doesn't want to get sued... 8)

Ahhhh... so if I stick four nice big fat tyres in the back there is no more problem with the alarm ...
Must find an avatar myself, tall or fat, short or thin, it would be better than no avatar at all, I feel most deprived.
Looks like we'll have to fart around with that plastic thing though, since nobody has any other sensible suggestions.
