Mine's an 05 - probably a more scientific measure would be to measure the voltage drop across the battery when the doors are open and lights on then lights off, that would provide a measure of battery drain, now where's me multimeter.......

My earlier comments refer to a 2005 model as well. The Bearded Dragon

I've noticed that you can turn the lights off as suggested when the boot is open for instance, but when another door is opened and closed, or left open, the lights will come back on again, how daft is that !!!

To reduce (not prevent) current draw, why not replace the internal lights with LED replacements? I'd recommend 'warm white' over cold white as the latter is too harsh IMHO. With all the puddle lamps etc active, there's a minumum of 50W burning if you left the lights running.
At least replacing the internal lights with LEDs is legal, whereas replacing the external lights is not.
Biggest battery killer is deffo leaving the keys in the ignition though; even in position 0. Get em out and keep them in your pocket Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

With mine, if you leave the tailgate open the interior lights all go off after a while so I have always assumed that this is the car going back to sleep.????
I have left the tailgate open all day like this before with no trouble.
However, opening and closing another door wakes the lights up and turns them back on again for a while. I have then had a problem with the battery being low if this has been done a number of times in the day.

Hi Carabraxis,
The interior lights are on a timer.
I wouldn't equate the lights going off with the D3 "going to sleep".

If you hold the interior central light button in for 3 seconds, they will flash once. this will switch them off permanently. to switch back on, do the same thing. Bodsys Brake Bible
