Loose wiper arms

Don't know if anyone else has experienced this; did a search!

About 1000 miles in my passenger side wiper arm "gave up" so went to stealers who fixed it by simply tightening the nut apparently.

Skip to 31k miles, M4 Bristol bound yesterday, the drivers side wiper mounted the pilar and stayed there!
had a couple of fiddles on the hard shoulder as it was p!$$ing it down to no avail to crawled to the truck stop at J17 (highly recommended now) grabbed a 13mm spanner and fixed it brilliantly. It wasn't finger loose but almost took a whole turn!

Anyone else had this?

very common if you try to operate the wipers with them froze to the screen.
undo the nut, take the arm off & clean the splines, refit & tighten
