Loss of Power !!!

For the past month or so on a few occasions I have had a total loss of power when pulling away and driving (only on roundabouts) it doesn't do it all the time only when I think it hasn't done it Big Cry Its scary on my own never mind when the family is with me, no lights, coughs, splutters or smoke. Land Rover assist came out to me but didn't find anything logged on the brain.

The dealer had it for a week stating it needed lots of software updates and that it should cure any issues, well of course it didn't so where better that to get quality advice than here Thumbs Up

Any ideas Idea Idea Idea is it a filter Question

How can I see what versions of software I have to compare to the latest versions available Question

Fuel filter may be needing replaced. Happened to my D3 random loss of power with no warning lights or chimes. New fuel filter cured it.

It's hard to say if it is a filter from your symptoms. The vehicle software load can be interrogated by an IID Tool or similar which may also give a clue with fault codes and live data. With the interdependency with the gearbox its role should not be forgotten either.

Thumbs Up

That actually (the gearbox) was my thought when pulling away but it doesn't explain the problem when going round the roundabout. No clonks either Confused

Seen two D3s recently that had hesitations when under steady power going round roundabouts or over very bumpy roads. Both were the neg battery lead, much to the relief of their owners!

Hopefully the technicians would not have missed such a simple thing but something you could rule out yourself.

Yep, brake switch can cause a brace of issues. Would have expected LRA to have spotted that though.

Brake light switch Thumbs Up

The technician diagnosed it in seconds on the last visit after asking me reverse the car while he watched the brake lights.

I didn't realise the switch actually cuts the power Confused

Hopefully thats the end of it Wink

C0mputer cuts the power after the faulty switch makes it think that you are braking!
