low coolant

over the last couple of days i have been getting an i on the display with a low coolant message.

i have checked the level and it is ok.

having read the forum it seems i need a new bottle (i have asked a member to price one for me)

my question is can i still use the car until i get the new bottle?

i only ask as i have to do a airport run on friday.

cheers

I had this on mine until the workshop changed the sensor, it used to come on at the start when it did the system check. Drove it for about a week before it was changed, and didnt affect it at all.

As long as you are sure that the level is right and stays so then fine to drive, I drove for a month with the message until I got round to changing the bottle/float

Just keep a manual check of the coolant level & all should be fine.

Sometimes a sensor fixes it, but more often than not, the float (which is part of the bottle) is sticking, thus usually best to go for a bottle.

as already stated make sure you are not actually loosing coolant
i had same error but it was loosing coolant
took a while to fix(egrv valve replaced all ok now)
always keep an eye on temperature gauge as this will
indicate if you are loosing coolant
