Low coolant level warning? |
|
Anybody else experienced low coolant level warning when there is nothing wrong with the coolant level!!!! or have i got an air lock where the sensor is? come to think of it where is the sensor located on tdv6 d3? also very occasionally if you are driving it like you stole it i get an engine managment system faliure warning and it shuts down to half power! but if you turn the ignition off for a few seconds and restart i goes away! any ideas as its rather anoying!
Regards

Not sure about the engine system management failure but the low level coolant warning for no reason is a known problem - mine was sorted under warranty.

You need a NEW Bottle...........Its a known fault where the float inside the bottle becomes pourous and gives false readings.
Easy DIY job, get some mole grips and clamp the hoses, undo and replace. Make sure you replace the coolant with like for like, the Pink OBD coolant.
1hr max to change

And after re-reading your post, are you getting the "i" in the info display, and then "Engine System Managment Failure"?
I had this and sudden loss of power, only rectifying if I switched off and on, mine was the TURBO, the variable vanes soot up and jam rendering the Turbo knackered on mine.
I am NOT saying this is your problem, but worth looking towards that way, or EGR's are known to behave this way also.

Cheer's bud Yes the i is displayed. It's only on the very odd occasion when your going for it, it was a bit inconvinient when i was trying to get my wife to hospital when her contractions were only a few minutes appart but we made it and that was nearly 10 month's ago now! god time flie's It seams to do it more if your on a bit of a bend or a bummpy road so i wondered if it was a sensor issue

That seems like your DSC is cutting in, does a AMBER light the shape of the D3 light up when doing this.....If the DSC lights up it KILLS power straight away.....could be tyre pressures low, wheel Bearing, or just a sensor playing up

Haven't noticed any other lights. If it was the DSC it would clear it's self wouldn't it? instead of having to turn off and restart. All i get is the ping, audible warning and the msg in the display box.

Think so, the DSC symbol lights up whilst the DSC is cutting in...............strange.
