Low Pressure Lift Pump

Hi All,

Our last 6 month trip throughout Oz was complicated with fuel supply issues, my Faultmate led me to believe it was either the LPFP ot the HP pump. At the moment I am trying to establish first whether it is the LPFP because it is the simpler to fix.

The symptoms were erratic cutting into limp mode originally 5-6 times a day where we would stop and restart and all would be fine. the final 400 Kms of our trip it went into limp mode 42 times....very frustrating.

I have cleaned the MAF and MAP sensor which was absolutely clogged up with carbon and I renewed it. Since then it only occasionally goes into limp mode although I haven't taken it on a long drive or towed the van which i will do this week.

My question is regarding the lift pump; I have measured the pressures and the amperage draw which are 5PSI ign on and 2 PSI motor running at 1500RPM Amp draw of 3.73 ign on and 4.2 motor running at 1500RPM.
I am unable to find any information regarding the LPFP on the net, can anyone tell me if those figures are OK?

Cheers
RichardK

Thanks for that, yes that has been great help, I have been using that information, however, I am concerned that the readings I have are a lot lower than those and need to know if my readings are OK.

Cheers
