Low revs when I brake and nearly stalls

Hi everyone
My disco 3 when I first pull away when I brake the revs drop really low and red battery light comes on
But it's okay once it warms up??
Also have a problem with compressor not lifting since I ran through puddle now showing no special features on dash
Has this got anything to do with alternator
As my last car (not landrover) when alternator started to go weired stuff started flashing up on dash
Thanks

If the alternator is on its way out then lots of issues arrive quickly and it will soon kill a healthy battery, plus give you a lot of head scratching issues!

Check the voltage whilst the car is running but also take a look at the Aux belt, tensioner (tend to collapse) and alo if the Alternator is actually bolted on correctly and hasnt worked loose.

As a final note faulty or non genuine brake switch can also give some odd problems.

Water in the electrics could be a problem and not uncommon

A good code reader like an IID will help you get to grips with some issues but the basics should be checked quickly with the Alternator as this is likely if it has not been changed.
 Must stop buying shiny toys....
