Low rumbling under acceleration - goes on freewheel - Manual |
|
I have a manual D3, and it has developed a low level rumble over about 40 to 50mph which disappears when I back off the accelerator.
I am wondering if this is related to a fault with the flywheel....I have had an issue with clutch slip knocking the XYZ sensor out of calibration (taking out the reverse lights, sensors, etc), and fixed that with the help of some useful tips on this site. Am now wondering as to the cause of the slip (happened twice).
It is not giving steering vibration or internal cabin vibration, but a strong rumble low down, like the engine is growling more than it should.
Has anyone else heard something like this & know likely causes ?

My disco 3 has just started to do the same thing, but just after the clutch / flywheel were changed. Did you find out the cause of your problem?
