ISTR that there was an issue a few years back over the level switch on these, where they got replaced under warranty. Try a search as it was an ongoing thing back early 2006'ish

As jkp says,
Was fairly common in early MYs.

Apparently, the level float is porous, absorbing fluid, thereby causing it to sink.

Best Wishes,

Replacement is fairly easy - just need to take off the front bumper.

Make sure you also have some ANR2224 and DYC101420 clips - though the latter didn't break when I took off the wheel arches.
