LR 3 v8 gearbox swap with the diesel one

Hello folks,

I have a problem with my gearbox on LR3. It doesn't past the 3rd gear. What I was thinking is to swap it with another gearbox from another lr3 but tdv6. What is your suggestion?? Do they use same torque converter? Do I need to do a lot of modifications?? I know that I will need to swap the megatronic electronic to not reprogram it with the car. Please, advices
