LR Insurance and remaps
I have read a few posts where members had sought cover from Land Rover Insurance for remapping and had been turned down. I can confirm this morning that I have obtained full comprehensive cover for the re-map with a 15% loading with them, with no additional penalties to the policy. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Don't you think 15% is a 'money-for-old-rope' additional penalty? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Well I asked if they covered remapping ...they asked about performance...I told them the relative increase in BHP and torque...and they went away thought about it, then called me with the % increase. The important point to them was that the top speed of the vehicle i.e. 112mph was not being increased. They require a letter from me for the file ...and that's that 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Of course I do ...but I guess they would argue their increased risk ...ultimately I'm happy to pay for the peace of mind and it means I dont have to faff about changing companies.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Like most insurance companies, they all will cover upgrades, but it depends heavily on your location, not really the car.
If you already pay a higher premium because you live in a dodgy area (note: not dogging area!!), then it is possible that you will not get the upgraded cover.
I went through all this pash when I had my Evo's. When I moved house upgrades and add-ons were not a problem, although at a price.

Do you get a reduction on your premium if you use wipe down seat covers and have the privacy glass removed??
