LR3 Project / Norway
Hi
Thought to I air if there was any interest in my project here
I'm restoring a 2008 LR3 and am not really a land rover guy😊 so I thought it might be nice to share the madness with others in here. I have come a long way and will probably start with the most exciting things the months to come .
A little about the project:
• Frame sandblasted and painted / Epoxy primer, 3m bodyspray (Soft rock ship protection) and PU coating
• Body (entire underside) sandblasted and painted / Epoxy primer, 3m bodyspray (Soft rock ship protection) and PU coating
• New overhauled engine purchased and coming in .
• RRS Brembo brakes purchased in advance.
• Air to strut conversion with 2 "lift has been purchased. Has worked for 6 months to obtain documentation to get the car approved converted and raised here in norway, so it will be exciting to see what the Public Roads Administration says.
• Face lift (2010) Bumper, front lights, grill, wheel arches have been purchased and the rest is coming.
• Warn zeon 10 winch has been purchased.
• Lots of other things ++++
•
The car will be one of the more extreme ones ( at least what aim aiming for)and will probably be one of the few in Norway with springs and approved lifting if not the only one.
I'm in the prosses of buying all the new stuff I need .Brakes, suspension , absolutely all of it will be purchased new .The only thing that is not going to be new is 4 drive shafts I think.
Im also going to recoat all the components with the same application as the body to keep it clean and rust free under there😊
Some of the mods coming and planned :
• Overhauled differential front / rear diffs with ARB airlock and dual compressor.
• Snorkel
• Roof rack and tent (have the tent)
• 33 "Wheels (hope I can get it fitted with some mods and the lift)
• Considering a steel bumberes front to back with sidesteps.
• spare wheel rack at the back and the rear and ladder
• Protection plates under the car.
• Wrap the car
• Lots of other mods related to overlanding (battery banks and drawers etc.. )
Will be a lot of exciting things happening to this car. Hope there is some interest in this and that there are some interesting people to get to know and share experiences with (maybe more you who share LR experience with me).
I’m also considering to start a YouTube channel. But have to see if can cram that into my busy schedule . But it would be fun!
Overall I hope to get the bulk of things done the next month’s and get the car drivable. Then continue the journey as a rolling project.

Sooooooo....
This happened yesterday
Basically have had some time where work have completely engulfed my time.
But I'm back on track and stuff will move fast from this point on.
Received 4 1/2 pallets from Terrafirma yesterday day
Fyi !! The guys over at Terrafirma and allmakes are incredible
Im just about done getting all the parts organized . My garage has been extended with a party tents to accommodate space for a effective assembly line
More parts have been ordered and will be in in two weeks . Steel bumpers all around and under armour. Many many watts of lights have been recived , 5 x7" + 2 x 22" for the front . 3x 22" on for each side of the car (360). Also 6 led 45deg scene lights.
Bought 8 pieces of 285/65-18 BF K02
So I'm also bulding a trailer
I have just started putting hands on the car. installing a storage system from Aluca in the back . I sent my Kat and dpf for a clean and test for exhaust flow and recieved it back and all good
I had to weld a new flex joint .
So , this are happening and will move fast from this point.
Only thing that sucks is that I have to do things in a awkward manner.
Since there is so many rules in Norway, I have to put the car back with all legal parts and get the car approved . Then i have to pick it apart and add the Steel bumpers and wheels and spacers .
Some pictures added and more to come

Silly question from the other side of the world - is your workshop a big tent?
The tent is his garage extension... I had to re-read the thread to spot it as a throwaway amongst all the tech stuff !.
