Just renewed my policy with Land Rover Insurance, formerly covered with the old LRI provided by RSA, forced to transfer over to the new LRI provided by Zenith. Only difference is they now won't extend cover to Morocco (but from what I gather there's very few insurers that will nowadays so will just have to buy insurance out there next time we go), with a spot of negotiation managed to shave £150 off the cost which ended up at least £100 better than I could find anywhere else The End

We're with LRI Simon, I heard a rumour that the off road cover had gone from the new policies. Is that correct? The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Off-road cover is still included, I did point out to the chap I was talking to at LRI that it didn't mention it anywhere on the website or in the policy documents which he was a little surprised about He did confirm it with the underwriters and I have a letter from them confirming it in writing - suggest you insist on the same when yours is up for renewal
Main reason for me sticking with LRI is the off-road cover, spent far too long last week ringing around and speaking to so called 'specialist' insurers, getting told 'oh yes we include green lane cover' and explaining to them so did just about every insurer out there as green lanes are public roads, what about off-road cover? Once you've weeded out the time wasters the few that do actually cover you off-road are a lot more expensive than LRI - over £100 more expensive in my case The End

Could you let us know who the other companies were that did offer offroad cover, even if more expensive, as need offroad and modified?

Try Adrian Flux, they might be able to give you a reasonable quote, if not they have a few specialists they can refer you too. The End

I use APlan brokers in Croyden. Always found them very good and very competitive. My car is remapped, de cated with an Allisport IC and is used off road for our construction business.
