Great to see DiscoStu's Wilma ..(or Ken's old motor as we like to call it ) featuring on pages 7 and 34 of this months 25th Anniversary edition of LROI.
One of their "Top 25 most memorable stories" feature relates to a photo-shoot we did in the autumn of 2007 at the fantastic and sorely missed Boughrood off-road track in Wales which was developed by AndrewS ...there were six D3's there that day with Ken's brand new White D3 stealing the show after being heavily modded the day after delivery by TFC at Offroad Essentials......and getting the front cover of the mag that month ..along with Andrew's Red Pearl and Craig's motor Sadly my humble D3 didin't feature in the article afterall because it was "boring" Silver apparently
....ahhh well ...nice to look back on the good old days 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Also liked the article on Paul Ratcliffe's D3 that he took to Armenia, Disco3.co.uk got a mention also, looks like a good edition this month for D3s.Displaced Yorkshireman.

Guy's it's the age old problem, too many D3s are owned my none mud lovers and only get used for the school run, LROI editors are quite impressed when one of us use them as designed!
The article on Tallulah came about because I bought a hard top for Mervin the Series 1 and it just so happened to belong to Mark Saville the owner of the famous Plimsol, once he was up close to Tallulah he realised some of us do actually use them! Point being is we need to encourage everyone to use them and not just for towing a jetski or a caravan!
Sadly we're up against it, even Land Rover think we need 4 Range Rover models to cater for the school run mob and they may make a utility vehicle for rough n tumble use.......possibly, maybe oneday!
And if any of you fancy the eastern block as a trip I can recommend it
