Main beam headlight bulb upgrade
Has anyone upgraded their main beam bulbs.
Is there any good LED replacements or has anyone tried HIDs in main beam?
It's the only yellow light remaining on the car, I want rid and I want brighter.

Osram Night Breakers (halogen) are not overly yellow and give a very good light. A very cost effective upgrade.D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone

Or Philips Xtreme +130%s, great match for my 5000k xenon bulbs. Found Amazon was the cheapest place to get them from.

Nightbreakers in my main beam, with Xenon headlights
LEDs will not match the focal point correctly. An HID kit would restrict your ability to flash the lights and the extra light would not be very beneficial (a narrower beam can extend vision, but more light doesn't make much difference). Neither would also be legal, of course (not that I feel that is important in it's own right). Halogen bulbs will not match the xenons except under the circumstances of filtering out a very large percentage of the light and thus being very dim or very short lived or both.
The warmer colour is no bad thing where human vision is concerned (i.e. it's actually a good thing), so I suggest you stick with standard halogen bulbs. Better vision, better life and cheaper too. I find any halogen bulbs cant get rid of that yellow look. I run LED spots on my van which give a fantastic light but I don't want spots on the disco. I'm thinking of mounting a round LED spot light in the headlight it self where the main beam sits.

Wondering how could you let your fog light on while main beam is on?

Why do you need your fogs on with the main beams. If you're using them as extra illumination on dark unlit roads then they remain on, to dazzle oncoming drivers, when you dip the main beams.
Not to mention you're not permitted to use 'fog lights' except in conditions of low visibility such as fog, sever rain and snow. This precludes their use under normal night conditions in lite or unlit roads.
It really p's me off when people use fog lights, when they'er not required, and dazzle you as you drive towards them. It's especially bad with newer cars with LED lights, they really are blinding.

I am just curious about how could Micky turn on the fog light while the high beam is on. Does that mean I am willing to turn on both of my fog light and high beam to blind in coming? What’s wrong with you?
Besides we don’t have any in coming but dangerous animals in most of rural canadian territory... better coverage of beam is always helpful, that’s why we have so many crazy trucks in the country.
