Major Leak
A problem from New Zealand. My Discovery V8SE is just 3 weeks old - each time I brake I hear water sloshing around the nearside footwell. On closer examination the carpets are soaking wet. In 3 weeks it has rained only once - a couple of days ago. The air conditioning has been used constantly. My car is not fitted with a sunroof and having only rained the once I do not think the issue is related to the front screen. Any suggestions or advice to give the dealer - the car goes in tomorrow. Thanks

sounds like a mis-fitted aircon condensate drain tube

Thanks, that would account for the wet carpets, but would it also account for the build up of water I can hear sloshing around when I break.

could be that one of the tubes is trapped or kinked, this would cause the condensate to build up in the heater ducting, giving the sloshing noise

On my D2 there was a A/C vent pipe going through to the car underside - to dump excess fluid. This got blocked with mud and my carpets got wet. Imagine there may be a similar tube on the D3 - worth checking. 2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. With 'free' privacy glass LOL.

Fixed I hope....
Thanks all for the advice, my local deal found that the vent pipe had not been connected at manufacture - the water had continued to build up in the car since delivery. The dealer has removed and dried my carpets and managed to get rid of the excess water - no more sloshing sounds when I brake.
Other faults I have identified, including a rubbing noise from the steering and clonking from the gearbox/drive train at low speeds are being investigated later this week. I will keep you posted.
