Did they make a D3 or D4 without any roof rails?

Hello, looking to put my Front runner rack on in the next couple of weeks and I have to take off my 3/4 rails to do so. i know I have to cut the trim around the front mount of it, but wondered if they ever had trim on the rear end if they come without rails from the factory?

Just so I could get some and not leave the trough when I fit the rack (created by removing my 3/4 rails)

My D4 commercial is factory fitted without roof rails, so has a cover trim front to rear.
Another newer one we had for a while was the same.

RRS has a cover, I know it won't be an axact match length wise etc, but I'm assuming you'll have to cut the trim to fit around the FR brackets anyway. Just in case you can't get one for the D3/4.

MY D3 does not have rails while my D4 had full length ones. So, yes, it seems like it was/is possible. Thumbs Up

I’m confused, which isn’t hard Laughing
When you remove the 3/4 length rails you should be replacing them with the Front Runner rails, so almost like for like Question There shouldn’t be any gaps in the channels left.
Well that’s how it was on my two Front runner racks.

Oh I thought there was a gap between the rear and middle fixings. The rack is at my unit, will have another look. I hope thats the case!! The fillers are £90+ each at the stealers

It sounds like you don’t have the Front Runner Rails then Question
Is the Rack new or second hand Question

Hi, no its definately for a d4. Been and checked and the website instuctions/pictures are the same as mine. The rail runs the full length of the rack, but the feet are only where the original mounting points are. the feet fold (if you like) doesnt run the full length of the area where the original rail was

Ironically I have just sold a set of these a few weeks ago and have another set on my D3 if you want some . I could have done a deal with you when I collected the rails from you last week!

Wont be over to Manchester for a while as the filming is all done and been broadcast, unless Pep wants another Portrait painting Very Happy

Will be going to Sheffield in the next week or so if you fancy meeting up somewhere like snake pass??

Think I'm going to avoid Manchester in future though as I received a PCN for driving in the city centre going to the hotel, Aytoun Street was closed so had to go down Portland St to get to the Hotel as there was no other way to get there and unload all of the stuff for filming Banging Head Banging Head
