Making a new rear parcel shelf
Here is my rough and ready new parcel shelf which is pretty basic and low in cost.
It also makes it a little more difficult when fitted with a load barrier for people to remove and get at stuff beneath it, so hopefully a little more secure.
Ready to start.

nice. Do you find the 18mm mdc rigid enough in the middle? would it support kit etc if full loaded on top without flexing too much and possibly dropping off sides?

To add rigidity, mine has a horizontal batten across the back, which acts as a lip to stop things sliding backwards.
Still wouldn't put anything heavy up there. (for many reasons). We keep all bedding up top, and all the heavy stuff below.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

and here before fridge - god I love this car
Just thinking would it pack easier with the red/blue boxes upsidedown on the shelf at the sides as they seem to match the slope of the windows?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill.
