I've got exactly same message - it's definately not mileage related on mine!
Mine (basic model) also suggested the outside temp was -10 this morning

There are 2 indicators for service due on mine. When the clock Icon is shown the number is the number of days due to the scheduled service it starts 30 days out. If you pass the date the number goes into negative. There is another icon (i think) when you get close (for me it was 1500kms) to the recommended service interval it starts counting down to the due mileage and if you pass it, it goes into negative.
