Too many owners in such a short time?
We went to look at a 2016 D4 Landmark on Friday at a main dealership, and ended up putting a deposit down. I’m getting cold feet now, especially as I know that it’s had two previous keepers and it’s not two years old until July. The first was a company, and the second a private owner.
What do peeps think?

Check to see if its a pre registered one from a dealership.

might also be that the driver who had it as a company car bought it from the company.

I purchased my company car and that would have been only a few months old. You need more details as to who and when. Do you mean two previous keepers as stated on the V5 , making it 3 in total ?

According to the dealership (Duckworths at Boston) the first owner was a company, and then it’s been privately owned by a local person. They couldn’t/wouldn’t say why the private owner had traded it in.
I know that it could even have been owned by LR themselves, as they keep theirs for 6-9 months before ‘disposing’ of them, and then bought privately.
I hasten to add that there was nothing apparently wrong with the car - the way it looked or drove, but it just seems that no-one wants to keep it for very long. Perhaps I’ve been lucky with my current car as I bought it when it was two-and-a-half years old from a private seller (Forum member) who was trading up to the then new 8-speed model, and six-and-a-half years later............
I know that the car is still under manufactrer’s warranty until July 2019 and then has the approved warranty for a bit longer, but I’d rather not have any hassle if possible.
Perhaps I’m concerned over nothing, but the saying goes, ‘if in doubt, go without’!

Ask to see the V5, the previous owners name and address will be on it. You could contact them privately and ask why they sold it...Dave
D3 2006 HSE, Cairns Blue - gone
D4 2016 SE, White
I wouldn't worry - its got the full guarantee, and even you can trade it back within 30 days/1000 miles with the approved used warranty if it has anything that can't be resolved.
Looks lovely!

OE reg = ex LR demonstrator or management car, probably got all the bells and whistles!- nothing to worry about as it’s got full warranty It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

The number did ring a bell, and I wondered if it was a LR car. Yes, it’s a Landmark with cameras, privacy etc., etc., so......... It’s probably just me!
Thanks folks!

I would ask for a full print out of all warranty work carried out on that vehicle.
It may well be circumstances, but a print out will show its history and possible reasons why it was sold on so quick.
Hope it isnt Silver or White in colour and very low miles which would indicate a Landrover Experience car, which will also have some evidence of a fire Extinguisher being fitted at some time, usually in boot, sometimes they remove them but usually leave holes where bracket used to be.
No need to rush into it, plenty others out there and remeber, pre-purchase is the only time you have any bargaining power, once bought always on the back foot with any issues
Had a Freelander similar facts, except if I had checked warranty report would of found it had already had a new gearbox before 2K and 3K later needed yet another one, plus new transfer box and wheel bearings that had been totally destroyed in 5K. OK Warranty covered it all, but did not enjoy the trips back and forth to dealer and the 4 weeks plus of having to drive other vehicles. Lost all confidence in it as well D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
D4 HSE MY12 Marmais Teal: Gone. Missed a lot!
Freelander 2 SD HSE MY11 Silver:Thankfully gone.
D4 HSE MY11 Silver: Gone missed !
Range Rover Sport MY06 HSE Buck Blue: Gone missed!
Discovery D2 TD5 Facelift MY Red Gone Missed!
Discovery D2 TD5 Cobalt Blue: Gone Missed!
Discovery D1 Auto Oxford Blue Not missed at all!

1st owner Land Rover - fleet vehicle of some description but probably a manager given colour and spec. Defo not LRE as wrong colour.
2nd owner probably acquired it at about 3000 miles and ran it for 18 months - 2 years and then changed to something else.
If I was looking I'd be tempted.

I’ve bought 6 Land Rovers since 2011; 3 x new and 3 x LR ex Management cars (“O” plated) and there is nothing here that would put me off. There’s every chance that the second (private) owner came under a lot of pressure from the dealership to take a D5 off their hands, knowing that cars such as this will find a ready market.
It seems pretty prudent to check the warranty claim history, if you can, but I’d be more concerned at letting a nice 16 plate Landmark slip through your fingers!
PS: is that a light coloured interior too? Not a problem if it isn’t, but lucky blighter if it is! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

Make sure that there is no damage to the lens on either front bumper mounted camera; they’re £500 a side to replace (ask me how I know! )2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
