Why so many wires under manual seat?

Took out my manual seat today and I just thought, why is there so many wires connected to the seat when it has no heating elements or motors? Ok, take one or two for the airbag perhaps but just wondering what else I have here?

Anyone shed any light on it ?

I know there are many different looms in the later D3's. mine is a 05 model ?

- Seat Airbags
- Seatbelt/occupant switches
- Seatbelt pretensors

I think that's it for base models Thumbs Up

ISTR that there is also the pre-instalation for electric and/or the seat memory module even though they're not fitted.
