Did an oil change today. Whilst draining thought I'd clean the MAF sensor. Wish I hadn't, cos I've got a warning for restricted performance now!

you sure you reconnected it properly ?
what you cleaned it with ?

Double checked that I reconnected correctly.
Just wiped with kitchen roll. Looked clean and no bits of paper.
No wires in the way for oil change, so highly unlikely.

tried moving connectors between A and B sensor to verify if thats sensor not the harness issues which travells along ?
if you cleaned the MAF what if you did not sealed the piping well and you got leak which springs the fault as manual suggests as well?
another shorter shot in da dark lol

I thought that the o ring might be shot? Maybe I'll put a bit of thick grease on it to help seal.
It's on nice and tight, although, as the screw holding it on goes in to plastic I don't want to over tighten and knacker the thread.
Wouldn't there be smoke leaking if it wasn't sealed?
Will try change the sensors round, too.

Cheers.
I think I've sussed it.
Looks like the screw which holds it in was over tightened, now it won't go tight enough to hold it down.
Loads of plastic thread loose in the hole when I looked.
Need to figure out a way of filling the screw hole with some plastic or similar so I can re thread the hole.
Strangely, despite the warning, it dies not seem to affect the performance.

Fixed with the bottom of a rawl plug to fix the thread issue but it also required a new sensor.

No longer fixed, but seems to occur when at speed now. Also seems to actually be restricted now. Turbo not kicking in.

i know some mechanics and let me tell you Audis Beemas Mercs AND volkwagen not too mention some "japs" fail even more often
I am on second D3/4 and never dealt with much of the failures apart from ones i did as preemptive strike
