After-market Rear Ladder

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...0371953198

Anybody got any experience or comments on this ladder, other than it's horrible blingness? I'm drawn to it rather than the normal ones because it won't require dismantling of the upper tailgate's trim.

Possible disadvantages: the single hook at the top might be a bit shoogly (wobbly) and the ladder appears to stand-off more than twice that of the tailgate handle/rear number plate lighting housing.

Thanks

There's not much to dismantle on the upper tailgate when fitting the LR ladder. Not much more that a couple of screws on the handle basically.

The fitting of the ladder you show doesn't look great. I would be very worried about the amount of damage it will do to the tailgate by the way it looks to be fixed.

JF: thanks for the input. I did have a normal ladder at one stage, watched it being fitted and then removed it myself. In order to access the screws in the tailgate handle, the upper tailgate's inner trim had to be popped off.

FrontRunner Ladder

Hi

I looked at these before I bought a FrontRunner ladder for £120 new. Well made but I have a couple of issues with it.

No fitting instructions.
You have to drill 3 holes on the top door and they don't give a drilling template so its "hit or miss" if the drill hits the hidden bracket inside the to door.

The lower fitting is done by removing the number plate light unit.

However on refitting due to the increase in thickness 3 retaining nuts will not fit.

RLD: I'm buying a Prospeed Quest rack. I did tests and it will fit my garage. Just a shame that the group buy and forum discount is over Sad

DJ: Thanks for your thoughts.

Everybody: I've bitten the bullet and bought a new OEM rear ladder, ouch Shocked

PaulP: I visited Prospeed at the end of November and have been in touch with one of the first buyers. I paid £185 + £10 delivery for the rear ladder - I should have hung on to the one that I had with my Expo Rack.
